Why Does Phlegm Increase in the Body? Causes and Remedies
Phlegm Increase in the Body: You must have heard that our body is made up of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, which are also called Tri Doshas. It is very important to keep these three doshas in balance in the body. If even one of these doshas becomes unbalanced, then it can cause problems in the body.
Reasons for increased phlegm:
Oily foods are more responsible for increasing the amount of kapha. This includes outside food, salty, and very sweet foods.
Any kind of cold things are also considered to be the cause of increased phlegm. Often people drink very cold water or get wet in the rain, which also increases phlegm in the body.
Eating too much causes the accumulation of calories in the body, which increases the Kapha dosha.
Home remedies to balance Kapha in the body:
Eat spicy and bitter foods:
According to Ayurveda, eating turmeric powder mixed with hot rice keeps the cough in balance. Drinking bitter gourd and Giloy juice helps in getting rid of cough problems.
Exercise:
Exercise is considered a very effective option to balance all three doshas. To balance Kapha dosha, you need to do Dhanurasana, Bhujangasana, Surya Namaskar, etc.
Eat old honey:
Honey has been used in Ayurveda since ancient times to balance phlegm. If you are consuming honey to balance Kapha, then do not consume it with hot water or after heating it. You can drink it by mixing it with normal-temperature water or eating dry honey.
Eat a balanced diet:
Excessive food intake increases the amount of Kapha in the body. Along with this, people with Kapha nature also tend to gain weight. Therefore, to balance Kapha, it is necessary to eat food in small quantities or a balanced amount. Fasting is also considered very beneficial for this. To reduce Kapha Dosha, you can fast once a week. This reduces Kapha Dosha.
