What to Do if You Get Bitten by a Snake: Essential First Aid Tips

Many times in snake bite cases, we do not know what to do and what not to do. In such a situation, even a small mistake can lead to the death of the patient.

Let's know what to do after a snake bite:

If a person is bitten by a snake, then first of all, let him lie down upright, and try to take him to the hospital without delay.

Try to see and identify the snake well. So that the doctor can be treated easily by informing him about the nature of the snake.

Try to keep the patient calm. So that the patient's blood pressure does not increase.

Remove all objects from the patient's body, such as watches, bracelets, rings, chains shoes, etc.

Do not let the person become unconscious. Even if he is unconscious, pay attention to his breathing and try your best to provide warmth.

Keep the patient lying down upright, otherwise the poison may spread due to movement in the body.

If the snake has bitten the hand, keep it hanging down so that the venom has time to reach the heart. If the bite is on the leg, lie down on the bed with the patient's feet hanging down.

Tie a cloth bandage or rope two inches above the snake bite site. The bandage should be about an inch wide and should be tied within 20 minutes of the bite.

The bandage should not be so tight that the blood flow is completely stopped.

What not to do:

After a snake bite, do not waste time going to any Baba or Ojha.

Most of the people in the village chew neem leave, whether it tastes bitter or sweet, and whether the snake has bitten you, these should not be done.

Do not cut the area where the snake has bitten, as this can lead to septicemia.
