Weekend Sleep Reduces Cardiovascular Risk
Adequate sleep is important for good health. But today's modern lifestyle is depriving people of natural sleep during the workday. Therefore, most employees prefer to sleep during the last days of the week. Chinese health researchers have brought good news for them.
According to their research, weekend sleep reduces the risk of heart disease. It is clear that people who sleep late on the last days of the week have fewer heart problems than those who sleep late every day due to work pressure. According to a study by Chinese health experts, weekend sleep is more beneficial for heart health.
Research done with 90,903 people:
They found that such restful sleep was associated with a lower risk of heart disease. The researchers said that this relationship was more pronounced in those who got less sleep during the week. It was extracted from the health data of 90,903 volunteers obtained from the UK Biobank.
Of them, 19,816 volunteers were sleep-deprived. Over a period of 14 years, sleep-deprived people who slept deeply on weekends had a 19 percent lower risk of heart attack than those who slept less on weekends. There has been no previous research on whether napping on weekends is beneficial for health. Chinese researchers have proved it for the first time.
