Foods to Avoid with Spinach: Prevent Stomach Discomfort

Foods not to eat with spinach: As soon as the winter season arrives, the markets are flooded with spinach and other green vegetables. The winter season is called the season of good-quality vegetables. A lot of vegetables of different varieties are available during the winter days. Various types of dishes are prepared by mixing these vegetables. Healthy dishes like saag, parathas, palak paneer, and soup are also made from spinach in winter.

But, when spinach is cooked by mixing it with other vegetables, the combination can harm your health. That is why, nutrition experts and Ayurveda also forbid eating spinach with other foods. Let us know which things spinach should not be consumed and which health problems can increase by doing so.

These things should never be eaten with spinach -

Do not eat spinach with sesame:

While making Palak-Aaloo Tikki or while making any kind of snack, if you mix sesame with spinach, then avoid doing so. Ayurveda advises not to eat spinach with sesame. Eating sesame and spinach together can harm the digestive system. Due to this problems like stomach ache and diarrhea can increase.

Eating spinach with paneer can be harmful:

Spinach paneer is one of the most-eaten dishes in our country. But, do you know that eating spinach with paneer or cheese made from milk is not good for your health? Spinach is one of those vegetables which has high iron content. Iron can react with calcium found in milk. Due to this, the body is neither able to absorb the nutrients of these two things nor the digestive system can digest them. Due to this you may have stomach-related problems.

Why spinach should not be eaten with curd:

If you like to eat curd and spinach curry or spinach raita in winter, then you should stay away from this food combination. Actually, in Ayurveda, it is advised not to consume spinach and curd together. Calcium is found in curd and spinach contains iron. Both these things can hinder the absorption of each other in the body.
