Malasana Yoga: Benefits, Techniques, and Precautions

Due to today's fast and busy lifestyle, it is not easy to maintain health and mind. This is because mental, immune, and sexual problems are increasing rapidly all over the world these days.

The great yoga masters of India have spoken of many asanas that keep the body and mind healthy. One of these asanas is Malasana. Malasana is also known as Squat Pose or Garland, Necklace Pose in English.

Malasan is a Sanskrit word. It consists of two words. The first word mala means a chain made to connect something. At the same time, the second word is asana which means to stand, lie down, or sit in a certain position.

Benefits of doing Malasan:

All yoga postures keep the body and mind healthy. Especially, if they are done with proper breathing and body coordination. Similarly, malasan also heals and strengthens the body and mind.

Works well for lower back pain.
Makes the back muscles flexible.
Improves mobility of the waist and spine.
Strengthens the knee muscles.
Improves blood circulation in the legs.
Eliminates the problem of sciatica and varicose veins.
Improves chest and shoulder mobility.
Makes the shoulders strong and flexible.
Gives a good massage to the internal muscles of the stomach.
Helps to improve concentration.
Helps build 6 pack abs.
Improves digestion.
Improves mental health.

The correct way of doing Malasan:

Gradually increase the practice of doing malasan.
Never put pressure on your shoulders or knees.
Warm up before sitting to activate the core muscles.
Stop the sitting practice if you feel any discomfort or pain.
If you are doing this asana for the first time, do it according to the advice of the yoga guru.

Avoid Malasan practice if you have any of the following problems:

Patients with high blood pressure should not practice Malasana.
This should never be done if there is a complaint of Diarrhoea.
Do not do this if you have knee problems or arthritis.
If you have neck pain, do not bend your neck while sitting. Look ahead.
