Understanding the Increase in Parkinson's Disease: Causes and Prevention

Parkinson's Disease in Young: Diseases related to nerves create a very disturbing situation and one of them is Parkinson's Disease. Parkinson's disease is a neurological disorder that gradually affects the movements of the body. However, it is seen in elderly people in most cases because with age the nerves become weak and this disease starts occurring.

But in some situations, its cases have started being seen even before old age and in the last decade, an increase in its cases has been seen in younger people. Therefore, now the youth are also becoming its victims. The number of Parkinson's patients in India has exceeded 10 lakhs and this number is increasing continuously.

In such a situation, to prevent this disease, it is necessary to have sufficient information related to it and also know what are the reasons that increase the risk of this disease and what should be done to prevent it.

How is Parkinson's disease spreading?

When the production of a neurotransmitter called dopamine in the brain decreases, then Parkinson's disease occurs. This is because dopamine helps the brain to control the muscles and due to its deficiency, the brain is unable to control the muscles due to this symptoms like tremors, muscle stiffness, and slowing down of movement start occurring in the body and there is also difficulty in maintaining the balance of the body.

The main causes of this include genetics, environmental factors (such as pollution), and lifestyle problems such as stress, unhealthy diet, and lack of physical activities.

This disease is increasing in the youth

Nowadays, like the elderly, this disease is also seen increasing in the younger age i.e. youth, which can be a matter of concern in itself. Usually, genetic reasons, excessive mental stress, unhealthy lifestyle, and hormonal imbalance can also be the major reasons behind the spread of Parkinson's disease. Apart from this, exposure to pollution and chemical elements is also considered to be a reason for the increase of this disease.

Prevention of Parkinson's disease:

1. Healthy lifestyle: Regular exercise, yoga, and meditation can reduce the risk of Parkinson's. Physical activities increase blood flow to the brain, which keeps dopamine levels under control.

2. Balanced diet: A good diet keeps the brain and body healthy. Foods rich in antioxidants, vitamin B12, and omega-3 fatty acids can reduce the risk of Parkinson's.

3. Reducing stress: Controlling stress is important for mental peace. Yoga, meditation, and brain-relaxing activities can improve mental health.

4. Early detection and treatment: It is important to identify symptoms of Parkinson's such as tremors in hands, balance problems while walking, or voice changes as soon as possible and consult a doctor.

Experts' opinion:

According to health experts, there is no sure cure for Parkinson's disease, meaning it cannot be eradicated with the help of any medicine or treatment. However, with the help of proper treatment, medicines, and therapy, its symptoms can be controlled and it can also be prevented from becoming more serious.
