 |
High heels

'High heels' or high-heeled shoes. Usually, modern girls wear it. However, according to physiologists, it has many negative effects on the feet and bones. Accordingly, wearing these shoes, the weight of the body falls unevenly on the foot and its joints and muscle cords. This pressure can especially destabilise the big toe joint. Some parts of the fruit form hard gourds. This is called a 'bunion'. It makes the feet unstable and causes pain.

Negative Effects of High Heels on Women's Health

In addition to 'high heels', wearing shoes that are too tight can also cause hereditary foot deformities or knee pain without putting too much pressure on them. Common symptoms are swelling around the big toe, swelling of the big toe joint, redness and pain, thickening of the skin at the base of the toe, swelling at the joint of the toe, constant pain in the toe and foot, weight loss of the big toe, etc. Sometimes the pain can be so severe that it becomes difficult to walk even in simple shoes. Again, even the shoes do not fit the feet.

Additionally, 'high heel' shoes can cause bone spurs and permanent back pain. This in turn puts excessive pressure on the spine, which over time damages the structure and condition of the entire skeletal system. In fact, it can also interfere with blood circulation.

According to a survey conducted by Max Health Care in Gurugram, especially among working women, 43.7 percent of women wear high heels daily, and about 21.3 percent wear them occasionally. However, considering the women of all categories, a total of about 48.5 percent of women wear such shoes every day or occasionally. The head of the Department of Inpatient Medicine of this institution, SKS Mouyab conducted a survey of 500 women who wear 'high heels'.

It has been found that about 50 percent of these women have some form of immobility problem. Its effects are particularly noticeable on the feet and spine. He advised women to refrain from it as much as possible.
