Spinal Deformity Symptoms: Early Detection is Crucial

Spinal Deformity: Spinal deformity is any deformity or abnormality in the spine, which affects the normal shape or position of the spine. This may include scoliosis (sideways bending of the spine), kyphosis (bending of the back), and lordosis (excessive bending of the lower back).

These deformities can cause pain, discomfort, and hindrance to physical activities. This condition can cause physical problems and negatively affect the quality of life. Spinal deformity can become a serious problem in the future and if left untreated, it can also cause permanent damage to the bone, which should not be ignored.

Causes of spinal deformity:

1. Sitting, standing, or sleeping in the wrong posture can damage the spine. This habit can cause more damage over a long period.

2. Some people are born with spinal deformities, such as scoliosis (curvature of the spine) or kyphosis.

3. As age increases, bone and joint problems in the spine such as osteoporosis (weakening of the bones) can occur.

4. If you do not lift heavy objects correctly, it can put pressure on the spinal cord.

Remedies and prevention methods:

1. Practice correct posture: Adopt correct posture while sitting, standing, and sleeping. This reduces the pressure on the spinal cord and reduces the risk of spinal deformity.

2. Exercise and yoga: Do exercise and yoga regularly. Especially practice asanas that increase spinal flexibility and strengthen muscles, such as Bhujangasana and Virabhadrasana.

3. Keep weight under control: Being overweight puts extra pressure on the spine, which can lead to spinal deformity. Maintain a healthy weight.

4. Proper diet: Take a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D. It strengthens the bones and keeps the spine healthy.

5. Be careful while lifting heavy weights: Whenever lifting heavy items, follow the right method. Lift the weight by bending the knees and keeping the back straight.

Consult a doctor:

If you are experiencing pain, twisting, or any kind of deformity in the spine, contact a doctor immediately. The doctor can start the treatment process by making a correct diagnosis. Sometimes, surgery may also be required in severe cases.
