New Virus Strikes Fast: 50 Lives Lost in 60 Minutes

Ever since the coronavirus has arrived, many new viruses have come and caused the death of thousands of people. Recently, a very dangerous virus is spreading very fast in Congo. The name of the virus is still unknown and it is being called a mysterious outbreak in Congo.

According to doctors and the World Health Organization, more than 50 people have died within 1 hour due to an unknown disease in northwestern Congo, which is a matter of great concern.

Serge Ngalebato, medical director of Bikoro Hospital, says that the cases that have come up so far show that only a difference of 48 hours has been observed between the onset of symptoms and death.

The outbreak of this disease started on January 21 and so far 419 cases have been registered including 53 deaths. According to the WHO's Africa office, the first outbreak in the city of Boloko began when three children ate bats and died within 48 hours after showing symptoms of hemorrhagic fever.

There have long been concerns about diseases spreading from animals to humans in places where humans eat animals with great gusto. The WHO also said in 2022 that the number of such outbreaks in Africa had increased by more than 60 percent in the last decade.
