Cause of Age-Related Macular Degeneration –

As the disease progresses, Rakta and Pitta doshas also get involved. Growth of new and weak blood vessels is a sign of Rakta dosha, and swelling in the eyes is caused by Pitta dosha.

Wet AMD: This is more dangerous because this vision weakens rapidly due to abnormal blood vessels under the retina.

Apart from this, more light is required to read or do work near the eyes.
